Be Part of the Truth Movement
The Box Project
Salons are a reflection of the people and ideas present. The Salon, hosted by Ariana Lombardi (Home is a Lonely Hunter) and Anthony Rowley (AWORNY) are art happenings. They occur monthly in the form of readings of written works, popup shows, site-specific performances, language-centered initiatives and creative-communication workshops.
Each salon is given a theme which speaks to the zeitgeist of the place and people present
Attendees can expect a safe and supportive space for artists, thinkers, creatives, doers, movers and shakers to connect and give voice to their thoughts
The hosts make an effort to organize creative workshops which offer unique approaches to art-making, communication,or specific art-related topics
Art initiatives that open a dialogue for different forms of expression
Salons have happened since the 16th century, and were, as they are today, a gathering of people, at the behest of the host, to grow through conversation and the exchange of ideas. Ariana and Rowley met in Guangzhou, China in October 2015. Both had a history of planning creative events: Lombardi held salon-like gatherings in Santa Fe, while Rowley planned live photography events and fashion shows in New York.
When the two met in China last October, their distinct experiences fused, making way for a new venture: The Salon.
Initially a small gathering held once a month at Tristan’s CalMex Restaurant and Bar, The Salon soon grew into bimonthly occasion packed with expats and locals from all walks of life.
